Since its launch in 2012, year13.com.au has been aiding young Australians in their transition from high school, providing career and life advice as well as opportunities in work, study and travel. Year13 has since developed resources to help other youth-focussed businesses, including its youth insights platform, YouthSense, and the Youth Engagement Summit, an event that brings together educators, employers, brands, teachers and parents to discuss effective engagement strategies.
In 2018, Year13 also launched its in-schools program, The Truth Project. Delivered to senior school students, these presentations break down the myths of finishing school and encourages students to utilise data to build realistic and fulfilling career goals.
Young people are struggling with the transition from high school into the real world more than ever. With 1 in 4 young Australians qualifying for a probable serious mental illness (PSMI), 1 in 5 university students dropping out within their first year, and apprenticeship commencements at an all-time low, it is evident that youth need more support when making decisions for their post-school future.

While there is a large team behind the scenes at Year13, these three are the brains behind the business. Beginning Year13 in their late teens and early 20s, Saxon, Jordan and Will were immersed in their own post-school struggle when they dreamed up the idea of a platform to help other young people in the same position. Now they help hundreds of thousands of young Australians on a monthly basis, along with the help of a rapidly growing team of young creatives and school leavers.

Year13 is the brain child of Saxon Phipps. As the Founder, Saxon is known for being the ideas guy and isn’t afraid to dream big.
Co-Founder William Stubley is the brains behind beast that is Year13. Will is the ultimate problem solver when it comes to turning big ideas into a reality.
Along with his brother, Jordan Phipps co-founded Year13 with the intention of helping all young people find their passion.

The home of post-school options, Year13 is a digital careers and life advice platform dedicated to helping young Australians throughout high school and life beyond. With opportunities in work, study and travel, Year13 provides both advice and services to empower youth to create the future they want.
Communicating with young people is no mean feat, even with their best interests in mind. YouthSense is Year13’s youth insights resource for businesses, schools and parents, which utilises data and research to educate youth influencers on the most effective engagement strategies.
Year13 hosts the Youth Engagement Summit event as a means of bridging the communication gap between young people and the educators, employers, influencers and enterprises that wish to reach them. These events allow key stakeholders to collaborate on effective solutions to youth issues.
There are a lot of misconceptions that come with finishing school, many of which are stopping students from reaching their full potential. Year13’s in-schools program, The Truth Project, teaches senior school students how to identify the myths from the fact and utilise data to set realistic career goals.
“Year13 have been professional, dedicated and invested in our company since we began working with them, and this has shown through the numbers they have generated. Their work is incredibly tailored to their audience, meaning their audience are highly engaged and enthusiastic about the companies they collaborate with. They have been wonderful to work with and we don’t want to recommend them to you because we want them all to ourselves.”
“Our mission at BUSY At Work is to get more people into jobs and have more people learning new skills. Through Year13’s unique approach to youth engagement, we are able to reach more people and help them to establish a valuable career pathway. The work that they do is both innovative and effective.”
“Year13 is a very effective publisher and understand and listen to their audience. It is a very genuine publication and they strive to understand the concerns, hopes and ambitions of young Australians. Our campaigns have produced very high engagement – but the greatest return is the calibre of young people Ducere has been able to commence dialogue with. I believe this is thanks to the knowledge Year13 have of their market and their unique ability to produce great content for young people.”
“I have been impressed by the dedication the Year13 team have shown towards making sure we are able to connect with a relevant audience, providing them with quality content. The work Year13 is doing makes communicating with young Australians effective and meaningful.”
